Two of Career Steps' directors have returned to Malawi in order to continue their consultancy with local businesses and organisations in areas of business leadership development, business planning, sales & marketing, organisational review and operational improvement planning.

 

In August 2011, Julie & James Balch were invited to join the team of international and local consultants working with Capacity Building for Enterprise (CBE) and Business Consult Africa in Malawi to develop a revenue-generating, self-sustaining business coaching and consultancy.  It was Julie's second visit to the country, having been involved with the project in 2010.

  

One of Julie’s first tasks was to lead the International Food Safety & HACCP seminar for the Food & Drink Industry of Malawi, attracting delegates from food manufacturing, hospitality and catering companies to improve safety of the Malawi food supply.

She went on to provide CIEH Food Safety, HACCP & PTLLS qualifications and training to numerous companies in preparation for their exporting plans.

 

 Julie, a veteran in providing food safety and HACCP training, has directed and carried out contracts and qualifications throughout the UK, in addition to India, the Caribbean, Dubai, Gibraltar, South Mekong and Turkey.

 

Keeping the home fires burning (or rather the Career Steps' office in order), is General Manager, Clare Stuart West, who has been with Career Steps since its inception in 1998, together with the team of experienced and dedicated trainers and associates ... and, of course, our lovely administrator Em.
